Our Program

Our Mission

To foster the growth and development of our pharmacy practice residents as they become proficient in providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care through excellence in precepting, teaching, mentoring and patient care

Program Description

The Interior Health Pharmacy Practice Residency Program is a 52-week experiential learning program that focuses on developing and refining direct patient care, pharmacy practice, project management and leadership skills to prepare the resident for a career in pharmacy practice.

The large variety of direct patient care, operational and management rotations available, as well as the other residency activities offered, ensures that residents have as broad and dynamic a learning experience as possible, with the goal of the resident being able to provide comprehensive patient care in diverse practice settings.  The majority of the residency rotations and activities take place at Kelowna General Hospital and Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.  Residents also have the opportunity to do rotations at other hospitals and sites in Interior Health, allowing residents to experience patient care in both urban and rural practice settings.  These sites include Kootenay Lake Hospital in Nelson, Vernon Jubilee Hospital in Vernon, Penticton Regional Hospital in Penticton and East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook.
